So after a wonderful winter in the warmth of Florida and feeling great since my last heart catheterization, I am ready to return to Kenya. I will leave on May 3 and return on May 16. My goals for this trip are three fold. First, to transport nearly 200 pounds of orthopedic equipment, surgical instruments and orthopedic braces. They were obtained through your generous donations and from the amazing medical warehouse at World Medical, a part of Samaritans purse. Also, many braces from Professional Home Care here in Johnson City, New York. The second goal is to screen and evaluate for surgery children who are advocated for by the Disabled Children’s Center in Maua, Kenya. You may remember that Dr. Gary Farley and I spent a week there in September, operating on 17 children. We hope this well ease the load when we return in September. The third goal is to meet with the leadership of the hospitals we serve in Chogoria and Kikuyu to receive accountability reports about the people who received surgical care paid for by your donations.

Many of you are new to following Wilson Rehabilitation Foundation. Our purpose is to improve the access to and quality of orthopedic care offered by Christian mission programs in developing countries. About half of our expense is for Poor Patient Funds to pay for surgery for the most indigent patients, who absolutely require surgery to restore them to a productive life. The other half of our expense is to acquire orthopedic equipment and implants to improve the quality of care given by these hospitals. We also support surgeons in receiving more training.

I will probably start the blog next Monday. Please share and like them. Please consider donating to help us achieve our goals. I am grateful for your prayers.
