August 24

We had a good meeting with Oliver, the director, of the Disability Community Center. We talked about the challenges brought on by the pandemic. In an effort to cut down on the number of people coming to the center they increased their outreach clinics from 4 to 12. They are teaching the parents basic physical therapy. This has the potential upside in getting the parents  more involved in the care of the children. It is especially important for children with Cerebral Palsy.

The needs are are very great. There are 100 children in need of prosthetic limbs. There are 441 children who need, walkers, wheelchairs and other assistive devices. We would like to develop solutions to this problem including starting a prosthetics department.

We are supporting the health insurance needs of 15 children and 10 more have had their surgery paid for by your contributions. Needless to say they are very grateful.

More from Chogoria tomorrow.

Blessings,

Doug
