MOU meeting
Tuesday, February 18, 2020

This isn’t all that exciting but it is important. We meet with the administration of each hospital once a year to review our working agreement (Memorandum of understanding or MOU). We met this morning at Kikuyu. I am happy to tell you that the money you donate has been accounted for and spent according to our agreement. We are always looking for ways to leverage our donations. As with the Kajiado Children’s Home, we are asking the hospital to pay for insurance coverage from the national health insurance program to pay for the surgery. This is much less costly than paying for the surgery directly. There are ongoing needs for equipment that were expressed. Many of the implants and instruments are produced in countries where there is no quality control so they look to us to help supply higher quality materials.

The picture shows the set up for a mile stone procedure, approaching a spine fusion through the abdomen. This would have been unthought of a fews years ago. So progress is being made.

Tomorrow is a travel day.
Blessings,
Doug
