A few thoughts from today.
Covid is very much present. People are definitely wearing a mask indoor and a significant number wear it outside also. Only about 5% are vaccinated. People are anxious to receive the vaccine but access to it is limited.
There is a lot of road construction financed and performed by China, developing an economic hegemony. The picture is of an elevated highway being built across Nairobi. Interestingly, Rochester and Syracuse are going to eliminate these highways in an effort to reunite neighborhoods.
Nairobi and cities are bustling with many apartments and homes being built along with shopping centers.
Rural Kenya still appears very poor. People still walk but motorcycle taxis are very popular and dangerous.
